Festive Foliage Tablescape Tutorial

Creating a beautiful and welcoming festive tablescape doesn’t need to cost a lot or consume hours of your time. A little bit of forward planning and some foraging before the ‘big day’ and you can create a special focal point to enjoy with friends and family.

For our festive table this year we have opted for a dramatic but simple foliage garland. Alongside, black candlesticks with tall, tapered ivory candles, handmade porcelain dinnerware and beautifully soft linen.

Adding foliage to your table is a simple and environmentally friendly way of adding fragrance, texture and dimension to your tablescape. You may wish to pick up some fresh Eucalyptus and Viburnum from your local florist, cut some Fir branches or stems of Rosemary from your garden or simply forage from local hedgerows for Ivy, Holly or Fern whilst being mindful to avoid causing any damage. Store your greenery in water in a cool, dark place until required.

Start by adding the end pieces of your table arrangement, I have opted to include Fir, Eucalyptus and Hawthorn branches with Sloe Berries. Continue to add layers of foliage along the table towards the centre and overlapping the greenery where pieces meet and the arrangement looks uniform and full throughout.

Set your table with beautiful dinnerware, our handmade porcelain dinner set skillfully made by Natasha Swan Ceramics is a timeless piece of art with it’s flecked detail and smooth glaze.

Our Cohen & Co linen napkins adds warmth and texture, when simply knotted creates a relaxed and inviting setting.

Lastly, light your candles, add any finishing touches and enjoy the occasion to the fullest.

with love, Helen
